1. Pre-Installation Requirements

1.2 Tools & Materials
- Torque wrench (3-25 Nm range)
- IR thermometer (for terminal temp verification)
- Copper busbars: ≥32mm width (for 400A rating)
2. Mechanical Installation
Step 1: Mounting
1. Align with DIN rail (EN 60715) 2. Secure using M6 screws (torque: 4.5 Nm ±10%) 3. Verify verticality tolerance: ≤5° deviation
Step 2: Busbar Connection

WARNING
- Do NOT overtighten – may damage pressure plates
- Apply antioxidant paste (ABB ELK-04) on aluminum busbars
3. Electrical Wiring
3.1 Power Circuit
- Minimum cable size: 70mm² (Cu) / 95mm² (Al)
- Bend radius: ≥5× cable diameter
3.2 Control Wiring
[Shunt Trip Coil] Voltage: 24-230V AC/DC Wire gauge: 1.5mm² (max 10m length) Isolation: 2.5kV for 1min (IEC 60255-5)
4. Safety Interlocks
4.1 Lockout/Tagout
- Use ABB VBB-LOCK kit for mechanical interlocking
- Tagout procedure per OSHA 1910.147
4.2 Arc Flash Protection
- PPE Category III (NFPA 70E) required for live work
- Minimum working distance: 600mm
