1.1 Packaging
- Material: Recyclable cardboard with internal inserts.
- Dimensions:
- SERVOSTAR 4xxA (Height x Width x Depth): 100x300x270 mm
- SERVOSTAR 4xxM (Height x Width x Depth): 150x300x270 mm
- Labelling: An instrument label is affixed to the outside of the box.
1.2 Storage
- Store the product only in the manufacturer’s original recyclable packaging.
- Maximum stacking height: 8 cartons.
- Storage temperature range: –25 to +55°C, with a maximum temperature change rate of 20°C per hour (conforming to class 1K4 as per EN61800-2 and EN 60721-3-1).
- Storage humidity: 5% to 95% relative humidity (maximum), with no condensation (conforming to class 1K3 as per EN61800-2 and EN 60721-3-1).
- Storage duration:
- For storage periods < 1 year: No restrictions apply.
- For storage periods > 1 year: Capacitors must be re-formed before commissioning the servo amplifier. To do this:
- Disconnect all electrical connections.
- Supply the servo amplifier with 230V AC (single-phase) via terminals L2 / L3 for approximately 30 minutes.

1.3Decommissioning (Note: The original text skipped numbering 3.4, which is supplemented here for logical consistency)
Only professional staff with qualifications in electrical engineering are permitted to decommission parts of the drive system.
DANGER: Lethal voltages! There is a risk of severe personal injury or death due to electric shock or electrical arcing. To decommission safely:
- Switch off the main switch of the switchgear cabinet.
- Secure the system to prevent accidental restarting.
- Lock the main switch in the off position.
- Wait for at least 5 minutes after disconnecting the power supply.
1.4 Maintenance and Cleaning
- The device requires no routine maintenance. Opening the device will void the warranty. Only the manufacturer is authorized to clean the interior of the unit.
- Do not immerse the device in liquid or spray liquid onto it. Prevent liquid from entering the device.
To clean the exterior of the device:
- Decommission the device first (refer to Chapter 3.4).
- Clean the casing: Use isopropanol or a similar cleaning solution.
CAUTION: Highly Flammable! Risk of injury from explosion or fire.- Follow all safety instructions provided on the cleaning liquid’s packaging.
- Wait for at least 30 minutes after cleaning before putting the device back into operation.
- Clean the protective grill on the fan: Use a dry brush.
1.5 Disassembly
Only professional staff with qualifications in electrical engineering are permitted to disassemble parts of the drive system. To disassemble:
- Decommission the device first (refer to Chapter 3.4).
- Check the device temperature.
CAUTION: High Temperature! Risk of minor burns. During operation, the drive’s heat sink may reach temperatures exceeding 80 °C (176 °F). Before touching the device:- Check its temperature.
- Wait until it cools down to below 40 °C (104 °F).
- Remove all connectors. Disconnect the potential earth connection last.
- Dismount the device: Loosen the fastening screws and then remove the device.
