1. Safety Mandates
CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform hazard analysis per LOPA before installation
- Lockout/Tagout main controller power (Tricon CX chassis)
- ESD Protection: Class 0 per ANSI/ESD S6.1 (wrist strap & grounded mat)
- Never bypass diagnostics – violates FMEDA data (PFDavg = 3.2E-09)
2. Module Installation

① Verify slot compatibility:
- Chassis: 3008/3101/3805E (TMR bus position only)
- Adjacent spacing: ≥1 slot from analog modules
② Slide module into backplane until ejector locks:
- Torque retention screws: 0.6 N·m (5.3 lb-in)
- Backplane connector alignment tolerance: <0.3mm
③ Grounding:
- Connect chassis earth lug (M4 screw) to busbar
- Resistance: <1Ω to plant ground grid
